High Interest Learning Experiences
Is your child a magician-in-the-making? Curious in the kitchen? Avid animal-lover? In these Learning Experiences, students will participate in reading, writing, and math activities that center around a common theme while connecting with peers who have similar interests. Stay tuned - new themes will pop up each cycle!
Math Learning Experiences
Students will strengthen their problem solving, fluency, and reasoning skills through a variety of activities including rich tasks, logic puzzles, and math games.
Reading Learning Experiences
Students will strengthen their reading fluency and comprehension through the components of balanced literacy, including shared/independent reading, interactive read alouds, book conversations, and word study/phonics games.
Writing Learning Experiences
Students will write across the narrative, persuasive, and informational genres as they focus on developing their qualities of writing including structure, elaboration, and conventions through shared/independent writing and word study/phonics games.
Learning Experiences run on 4-week cycles. Each week, students will take part in two 45-minute small group meetings (up to 5 students) led by a teacher, as well as one 15-minute individual teacher conference.
